The Twilight Saga....

So I have heard so many people tell me how much they have enjoyed reading the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. The books in order are: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse & Breaking Dawn. So the week I spent in St.George I decided to buy the book Twilight and see what all the hype was about. I have to admit it took me a little bit to become fully interested in the story, but I absolutely enjoyed reading it and completed the book the first week, so I had to go and buy New Moon which I finished in a week, and I haven't started Eclipse yet but I plan on it this weekend. I feel I have an advantage starting the books now rather than sooner, because I don't have to wait to buy the next book the 4 are all out in stores!! Haha. Most know that they are making the movie Twilight that comes out 12-12-08, I am am both anxious and excited to see it. So if you haven't read the books, you should. As LeVar Burton would say " you don't have to take my word for it" haha!!! :)

Summer Break!

Colby had a 2 week summer vacation, most would think that is short break, but he is one year-round school. I really enjoy year-round. I like that his gets "mini' breaks through-out the school year. It gives us more opportunities for him to travel w/o missing school. Anyway, the first week of summer break we spent in St.George, UT at my Mom and Dave's house. Colby spent a lot of time at the park they have in the neighborhood. They have a great splash area and awesome playground and lots of grass to run on, along with tennis and basketball, etc. Another exciting thing over "summer break" was Colby turned 7 years old! His birthday was on a Wednesday so we took him to Chuck E. Cheese's and Colby and Carlee had a blast! Over the weekend we went up to St.George again and had a birthday party with some of his friends at Jumpin Jacks. Jumpin Jacks in a building full of all types of inflatable bouncers, from inflatable slides, obstacle courses, ships, etc. The kids all had a great time and Jared and I actually joined in on the fun. It was after completing the inflatable obstacle course that we realized we would never qualify to be a participant on American Gladiators, LOL! I think Colby enjoyed his time off and he just started 1st grade yesterday and is having so much fun. He loves that he gets to each "school lunch". The joys of being 7. Haha! Well more later....

Colby Graduates KINDERGARTEN!!

It's true...Colby graduated from Kindergarten this year, we are so proud of him. He made such good progress this year and met all expectations on his report card. His teacher Mrs. Root enjoyed having Colby in her class, he was an exceptional student and the best "artist" in the class. His graduation was so adorable and he received a graduation certificate, I will post a picture of him and his certificate soon. Congratulations to you Colby!!

Weekend of Caelee's Blessing

First I would like to thank everyone for coming to Caelee's blessing. I know most traveled from various parts of Utah. It was fun to see everyone. We started the weekend by going to Colby's basketball game. It was fun and he is getting so good. His team lost again to the Orange team :(. We then ate lunch at the famous In-N-Out burger where we enjoyed our burgers "animal style" or as James would say "doggy style". Haha!! The older kids were able to spend the day riding rides at Adventure Dome in the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino! I think they all had a blast! I heard it took Colby awhile before he would actually get on some of the rides...he finally got brave. Way to go Colby! We ended the day by eating dinner at The Cheesecake Factory in Cesar's Palace. Dad's friend Jed and his family were able to join us, it was nice to see them. Oh, and can I say that the White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake is absolutely wonderful...Mmmm. Luckily for those in Utah they put a Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Place! After dinner we were all beat but still decided to play a hand of my favorite card game 5 Crowns, I was losing pretty much the entire game, but with some luck and skill I was able to claim victory and won the game!

The following morning...We all had to wake up early to make it to a 9:00 am Sacrament Meeting for Caelee's blessing. She was actually awake through-out the entire blessing and didn't make a sound. She waited until after to make a fuss...thank you Caelee. Jared gave such a wonderful blessing. We are so excited to have Caelee be a part of our family and the kids are just loving her so much. After the blessing we ate lunch at our home and had the chance to visit with everyone before most headed home. It was a long fun weekend and we enjoyed everyone's company. We hope you guys will come back to visit us in Viva Las Vegas soon. Love ya!

Here are my adorable kids, Colby who is 7, Caelee with the purple bow is now 2 months, and down below clapping is Carlee who is now 2, a very outdated picture. I will update that soon. She isn't a fan of having her picture taken. We actually took her to Kiddie Kandids and she just wasn't having it, she didn't mind as much if Colby was sitting next to her, but we couldn't get one of just her...so we will try again. In the meantime you get to enjoy a baby pic of her!
